B.arborea
B. arborea grows at altitudes of up to 3000 metres in the Andes. (Ecuador / Bolivia / Peru / northern Chile) It is a slow-growing species with oval, velvety, hairy leaves which are whole-edged or slightly toothed. It has the smallest flowers of all Brugmansias (12-17cm) which exude a sweet fragrance.
It is the only angel's trumpet that is self-fertile. As a result, it produces abundant fruits which are 6 cm long and up to 4.5 cm in diameter. The rather large, triangular-shaped seeds are light due to their cork coating and are dispersed by the wind.
