Datura stramonium (white datura / fruit / seed)

Datura belongs to the nightshade family. Originally from North America, it has run wild here and is common in many places.

It prefers nutrient-rich soils and forms a plant up to 150 cm tall with strongly toothed leaves that can reach a length of up to 25 cm. The white flowers are 5-lobed and funnel-shaped. The spiky fruits contain kidney-shaped black seeds.
